FAQs
How do I make an appointment ?
All bookings are managed via the Glowday platform. You can book directly here, or alternatively, reach out via WhatsApp or our contact form. If this is your first appointment with us, please ensure you book a 30-minute consultation.
What happens at my appointment ?
During your appointment, we will carry out a thorough assessment to understand your needs. Based on this, a personalised treatment plan will be created, and we will discuss the potential risks and benefits of the proposed treatment in detail.
Please note that not all treatments are suitable for everyone, which is why this assessment is a crucial step before proceeding with any treatment.
There’s absolutely no pressure to commit to a treatment during your appointment if you’re unsure. We’re here to guide and support you every step of the way on your aesthetic journey!
How Should I Prepare My Skin Before Treatment?
For chemical peels, it’s important to stop using exfoliating products or topical skincare containing retinol or vitamin A at least 48 hours before your appointment.
For all other injectable treatments, you do not need to discontinue any topical skincare products. However, if you have an active skin infection such as a cold sore, impetigo, or a fungal infection, it’s best to delay your treatment until the infection has fully resolved.
While it’s recommended to attend your appointment without makeup, we understand this isn’t always possible. Rest assured, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed before the procedure, and in some cases, a topical anesthetic cream may be applied for your comfort.
Is it Painful? Will I Bruise or Swell?
No procedure is entirely pain-free, but most are very tolerable. If you have a low pain threshold, you can take paracetamol 30 minutes before your appointment. For added comfort, a topical local anaesthetic is applied to numb the area for certain treatments.
Bruising is a possibility with any needle-based procedure. Dr. Tay takes great care to avoid blood vessels during treatment, but bruising cannot be completely ruled out. To be safe, avoid scheduling any important events or meetings within 24 hours of your treatment. You can use makeup to conceal any bruising starting the day after your procedure.
Swelling varies depending on the treatment. For skinbooster treatments, most swelling resolves within 72 hours. However, for dermal fillers, swelling may take up to 4 weeks to fully settle.
What About Aftercare?
Comprehensive aftercare instructions will be provided before your treatment, and you’ll also receive a follow-up email detailing everything you need to know.
If you have any questions or concerns after your procedure, feel free to reach out to us via WhatsApp, and we’ll be happy to help. In some cases, a follow-up appointment may be advised, and we’ll arrange this for you if needed.
What is Your Cancellation Policy?
We understand that emergencies can arise. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please notify the clinic at least 48 hours in advance to avoid cancellation charges.
• Cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment: £25 fee
• No-shows: £50 fee
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
